Abstract

Generative linguistics is one the most widespread and prestigious theories of language. Its creator, Noam Chomsky, is possibly the most recognized linguist in History. In this work, I aim at showing that, however, one fundamental generative hypothesis cannotbe considered empirical, and that two other hypotheses (which are not less fundamental than the first one) are incompatible with linguistic or neurological evidence.
